NICOSIA: The drama Boy on the Bridge by Petros Charalambous will have its Cyprus premiere at the 15th Cyrus Film Days International Festival, to take place between 27 April and 6 May 2017.
NICOSIA: The 15th Cyrus Film Days International Festival, which takes place 27 April - 6 May 2017 in Nicosia and Limassol, will showcase 11 films from across the globe, including two films from Cyprus in the Glocal Images competition.
NICOSIA: Cyprus Ministry of Education and Culture announced the winners of the official funding programme for 2016-2017. The Ministry allotted 85,500 EUR as script development grants for low budget feature films and 239,000 EUR as short films production grants.
Due to the financial crisis that hit Cyprus in 2013, the Ministry of Education and Culture was forced to stop funding the film industry. For the first time since then, the ministry approved production grants of a total of 1 m EUR for seven domestic films in 2015.
NICOSIA: Petros Charalambous’s debut feature Boy on the Bridge is set to have its world premiere in the official competition of the Festa del Cinema di Roma - Alice in the City, taking place from 13 to 23 October 2016.
PAPHOS: Marc Lahore’s debut feature The Open won the 11th Cyprus International Film Festival, which came to a close on 25 September 2016 after 13 days of international feature, short, animated and documentary film screenings from 37 countries.
LIMASSOL: The 6th International Short Film Festival of Cyprus will take place in Limassol from 15 to 21 October 2016. The festival will screen dozens of short films in the genres of fiction, documentary, experimental and animation, from Cyprus and abroad.
PAPHOS: The 11th Cyprus International Film Festival will take place in Paphos from 14 to 25 September 2016. The programme of the festival includes 100 feature, short, animated and documentary films from 37 countries.
PAPHOS: The Swiss film Erlkoning by Georges Schwizgebel was awarded the International Grand Prix at the 15th Countryside Animafest Cyprus, while I, the Eye by Eleni Chandriotou won in the national competition.
PAPHOS: The 15th edition of the Countryside Animafest Cyprus, the official Cyprus animation festival, will screen 68 films in Paphos from 21 to 23 July 2016.
