BUCHAREST: The young director Cristina Iacob, who directed the most successful Romanian film in 2014, the youth comedy #Selfie, is in postproduction with A Gift for You/Un dar pentru tine, a love story set to open on 21 November 2014. She also plans to start shooting a sequel to #Selfie.

VILNIUS: The Lithuanian/Polish/Norwgian docudrama The Man Who Knew 75 Languages from director Anne Magnussen and co-director Pawel Debski has gone into production.

BUCHAREST: Anca Damian is developing a partly autobiographical feature set to shooting in summer 2014, Perfect sănătos/In Perfect Health, the story of a young attorney who starts his own investigation into the strange death of his father, a well-known judge.

VILNIUS: Director Arūnas Matelis is in production with his feature length documentary Gladiators. A Different World/Gladiatoriai. Kita planeta, a Lithuanian, Italian, Belgian, Swiss, Irish, Northern Ireland/UK and Latvian coproduction.  

PRAGUE: Prague-trained and based Slovenian director Olmo Omerzu, winner of the 2012 Czech Critics “Discovery of the Year”  award, is now shooting his second feature a drama titled Family Film.

ZAGREB: Greek filmmaker Yorgos Zois (Casus Belli) started shooting his debut feature Trema/Stage Fright in Athens on 31 July 2014. The film is a Greek-Croatian-French-Dutch coproduction with Sinisa Jurićić coproducing through Croatia's Jaako dobra produkcija d.o.o.

BUCHAREST: Cătălin Mitulescu started shooting his third feature on 21 July 2014. Rumeno is a Romanian/Swedish/Italian coproduction which will be presented in the Venice Film Market.

RIGA: Latvian director's Renārs Vimba debut feature Mellow Mud has finished its summer production shoot, producers Alise Ģelze and Aija Bērziņa said.

Groundbreaking Czech animation filmmaker Karel Zeman is the subject of an upcoming Czech documentary.

KARLOVY VARY: Producers and a scriptwriter of a proposed Czech-Polish coproduction entitled Binderiana presented the project at Karlovy Vary’s recent Pitch and Feedback forum, telling the panel that they’re still looking for the right director to handle the unusual genre film.

KARLOVY VARY: Czech postproduction house i/o post is producing Zdenek Jirasky’s third film Hanna and Marie following In Silence which screened at the 49th KVIFF and his awarded debut film Flower Buds.

KARLOVY VARY: Popular Czech musican Ondrej Havelka will direct his debut film Hastrman, based on his adaptation of a Czech book. The project at the third annual Pitch and Feedback forum of upcoming Czech and Slovak films organized at the Karlovy Vary IFF.
