SKOPJE: Goran Trenchovski`s debut feature Golden Five / Zlatna petorka, about an event from 1951 when five students from Strumica were executed, is proving a success in Macedonian cinemas.

SKOPJE: Bulgarian duo Kristina Grozeva and Petar Valchanov’s second feature Glory won the first KineNova International Film Festival, that ended on 9 October 2016 after five days of international feature and short film screenings from 15 countries.

SKOPJE: Nine films will vie in the international competition of the first edition of KineNova International Film Festival, which will take place in Skopje from 5 to 9 October 2016.

SKOPJE: Goce Cvetanovski`s hand-drawn animated film John Vardar vs. the Galaxy, which is Macedonia’s first long animated feature project, is currently in preproduction.

SKOPJE: CutAway Films Distribution will launch CineSquare, the first video on demand service for promotion and distribution of films from Southeast Europe. The official launch is October 2016.

BITOLA: The Happiest Day in the Life of Olli Maki directed by Juho Kuosmanen and shot by DoP Jani Petteri Passi is this year’s laureate of the 37th edition of the International Cinematographers' Film Festival Manaki Brothers in Bitola, Macedonia (10-17 September 2016), winning the main award in the official competition, the Golden Camera 300.
