PRAGUE: The Czech/Slovak/Bulgarian coproduction In Your Dreams / Ani ve snu! directed by Petr Oukropec will screen at the 30th Finale Plzen, running 20 – 26 April 2017.

PRAGUE: The Czech/Slovak/Polish coproduction Red Captain / Rudý kapitán, an adaptation of a popular crime detective novel by Dominik Dán, will screen at the 30th Finale Plzen running 20 – 26 April 2017. The film was directed by writer/producer Michal Kollár.

PLZEN: Tales for Emma / Pohádky pro Emu directed by Rudolf Havlík will screen at the 30th Finale Plzen, 20 – 26 April 2017.

PLZEN: Based on a book under the same title by Jiří Hájíček, Green Horse Rustlers / Zloději zelených koní directed by Dan Wlodarczyk will screen at the 30th Finale Plzeň (20 – 26 April 2017).

 

PLZEN: Radek Bajgar's Czech/Slovak comedy The Tiger Theory / Teorie tygra will screen at the 30th Finále Plzen FF (20 – 26 April 2017).

PRAGUE: The State Cinematography Fund - Czech Republic announced development grants for feature films. The fund will distribute 333,000 EUR / 9 m CZK.

PILSEN: Twelve Czech and Slovak films will vie in the main competition for feature and long animated films of the 30th edition of the Finále Plzeň Film Festival, which will take place in Pilsen from 20 to 26 April 2017.

PRAGUE: Docudrama 10 Days in April / Luther in Worms /10 Tage im April – Luther in Worms is currently shooting on Czech locations, mainly in the historic city of Telč, that stands in for the German town of Worms. The projects is a German/Czech coproduction.

PRAGUE: Oddsockeaters / Lichožrouti by Galina Miklínová , the most attended animated film in Czech cinemas, heads to distribution in Poland, South Korea, China and the United Arab Emirates. Distribution in English speaking territories is currently under negotiation, as producer Ondrej Trojan told the Czech press.

PRAGUE: Director/scriptwriter/producer Václav Marhoul starts shooting The Painted Bird in Volyn, Ukraine on 23 March 2017. The film is adapting Jerzy Kosiński’s bestseller and is a coproduction between the Czech Republic, the Ukraine, Slovakia and Poland. The film stars Czech 9-year-old Petr Kotlár alongside Stellan Skarsgård, Udo Kier and Harvey Keitel.
