Festivals 01-04-2015The 20th Vilnius IFF “Kino Pavasaris” invited creators participating in the competition programmes “Baltic Gaze” and “New Europe – New Names” to talk about their films and the creative process. The informal event took place at the Vilnius bar “Floor” and drew a crowd of cinema enthusiasts.

PRAGUE: On Monday, April 6, an exceptional documentary Cain's Children will be screened in Cinema Světozor in Prague. In a visually captivating manner, the Hungarian director Marcell Gerő tells the stories of three people, who were sentenced to long-term inprisonment for murder in the communist era and who are now trying to cope with their crimes and to make sense of free society.
Six films, including two directed by women, will compete this year for the Bucharest IFF trophy. All titles are Romanian premieres and, with one exception, will not be distributed in Romanian cinemas. The artistic director of the festival, Andrei Creţulescu, proposes, once again, an eclectic selection encompassing challenges, shocks and revelations.
WIESBADEN: goEast, the international film festival held in Germany which focuses on Eastern European films, will run from 22 to 28 April in 2015.
WARSAW: TVN, a privately owned TV broadcaster in Poland, is planning to add two new channels from 16 April 2015. TVN Meteo Active will focus on lifestyle programmes while TVN Fabuła will offer films and TV series.

The Febiofest Grand Prix goes to Icelandic director Baldvin Zophoníasson for the film Life in a Fishbowl
Festivals 29-03-2015The winner of the International Film Festival Prague - Febiofest drama is Life in a Fishbowl, which won twelve nominations, including Best Film, for the annual prizes of the Icelandic Film Academy The director of the winning film, Baldvin Zophoníasson, has arrived from his native Iceland to attend Febiofest’s Closing Ceremony. The Febiofest Grand Prix includes a check in the amount of € 5,000, which will be presented by Chairwoman of the Jury, actress Vlasta Chramostová.
