STRASBOURG: Amanda Kernell’s first feature film Sámi Blood was voted by the Members of the European Parliament as the winner of the 2017 LUX Film Prize. The announcement was made during a ceremony held at the European Parliament on 14 November 2017.
BUCHAREST: Andrei Gruzsniczki is in preparation with his third feature film Zavera. The film is a coproduction between Romania and Luxembourg, but additional coproducers are welcome.

Romania 13-11-2017BUCHAREST: Ioana Uricaru’s debut feature Lemonade is currently in postproduction with the premiere set for autumn 2018. The film is a Romanian/Canadian/German/Swedish coproduction produced by Cristian Mungiu through Romania’s Mobra films. Lemonade is the first Romanian film made with Canadian support since 1989.

BUCHAREST: Four more domestic films are to be released until the end of 2017, but the domestic films released this year will have substantially fewer admissions than in 2016. The 15 domestic films released to date had 176,649 admissions, while 20 domestic films sold 484,739 tickets in 2016. Ten debut features were released or finished in 2017.
TBILISI: Uta Beria’s debut feature Negative Numbers, the first Georgian/French/Italian coproduction, is currently shooting in Tbilisi. The film is one of the recently announced recipients of a grant from Eurimages. It will have its premiere in 2018, with Wide Management handling the sales.
