FNE together with Europa Distribution is launching a new chapter of the Distributor of the Month section. This time we focus on new strategies in film distribution and the importance of domestic film festivals in releasing new titles. We will also be looking at what distributors can do in order to prevent piracy.
BUCHAREST: Director/screenwriter/producer Dan Chişu plans to shoot his new feature The Birthday Party/Aniversarea (working title) in spring 2015 with the release set for 2016. He has two new features, Bucharest Non-Stop and Youtube Bazaar, set for release in 2015.

ZAGREB: Croatian producer Igor A. Nola currently has five international coproductions shooting or in postproduction and is expanding into Northern Europe.
ZAGREB: The Macedonian-Croatian-Finnish coproduction The Liberation of Skopje, the first feature directed by the Croatian-born Hollywood star Rade Šerbedžija (Mission Impossible II, Eyes Wide Shut, Before the Rain), started principal photography in Veles, Macedonia on 31 October 2014. Šerbedžija is also starring.
BUCHAREST: Romania's newest distribution company Freeman Distribution has become the official distributor of Lionsgate/Summit in Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria, Czech and Slovakia.
ZAGREB: Macedonian director Mitko Panov’s Wait for Me/Čekaj me, which wrapped shooting in Croatia on 18 October 2014, is the eighth international project benefitting from the film incentives scheme provided by the Croatian Audiovisual Centre in 2014.
ZAGREB: Levan Koguashvili's Blind Dates from Georgia, Andrei Creţulescu's Kowalski from Romania and Matjaž Ivanišin's Karpotrotter from Slovenia were awarded Best Feature Film, Best Short Film and Best Documentary at the 12th edition of Zagreb Film Festival (19-26 October 2014).
ZAGREB: The attendance of Her Majesty the Queen of Denmark, Margret the 2nd, and his Royal Highnesss the Prince Consort at the European premiere of the Danish/Croatian/Swedish coproduction Itsi Bitsi at Zagreb IFF this week highlights the importance Denmark attaches to the expansion of coproductions with Croatia.
