PRODUCTION: American Production The Islander Wraps Shooting in Croatia and Serbia
Croatia 17-07-2018ZAGREB: American production The Islander directed by Dom Mazuran and Zoran Lisinac was shot in Croatia and Serbia from May till early July 2018. The film benefits from the incentives schemes in both Croatia and Serbia.
CRAIOVA: The 9th edition of the Divan Film Festival focuses on Balkan Dreams. The film and food festival from the Balkans takes place this year in Craiova from 24 to 26 August and at Port Cultural Cetate from 27 August to 2 September.

Suns is the first private cinema in Latvia opened after the restoration of independence. KOSICE: The first feature film by Ivana Mladenovic, Soldiers. A Story from Ferentari, is competing for the Blue Angel award at the 26th Art Film Fest, running through 23 June 2018 in Kosice, located in southeastern Slovakia.
BUCHAREST: The Romanian Government approved a state aid scheme offering a 35% cash rebate on qualified expenditure for international productions shooting in Romania. There is a total cap of 50 m EUR per year to fund the scheme. The multiannual scheme approved on 13 June 2018 runs until the end of 2020.
BUCHAREST: Ten feature films and documentaries are competing for the main prizes at the 2018 Bucharest International Film Festival, taking place from 11 to 17 June 2018.
CLUJ-NAPOCA: Adina Pintilie’s first film Touch Me Not was selected for the main competition and also for the Romanian Days competition of the 17th Transilvania IFF, running from 25 May to 3 June 2018. This unusual film mixing fiction and non-fiction was awarded the Golden Bear and the GWFF Best First Feature Award at the 2018 Berlin International Film Festival.
