BUCHAREST: The most important accolades for the Romanian cinema in 2017 were the Silver Bear for Outstanding Artistic Contribution for editing received by Călin Peter Netzer’s Ana, mon amour, and Best Actor award given to Bogdan Dumitrache for Pororoca by Constantin Popescu at the 2017 San Sebastian Film Festival.
BUCHAREST: Adina Pintilie’s debut feature Touch Me Not / Nu mă atinge-mă, which was selected for the Competition of the 68th edition of the Berlin International Film Festival (15-25 February 2018), has been acquired by the Paris-based Doc & Film International.

This one screen art house cinema located in the center of Košice (Slovakia) is run by Cinefil, a not-for-profit organisation of film enthusiasts and professionals, that took over it in 2015. The cinema opened in1922 and was abandoned in 2012. This 300-seat cinema is the last surviving art house cinema in Košice.

ZAGREB: Cumulative local expenditure for international productions that applied for incentives in 2017 was almost 25.4 m EUR, more than double compared to 2016 and more than in the record year 2015.
ZAGREB: The Croatian Producers Association and Croatian Film Directors’ Association are protesting against the decision of the Croatian National Television (HRT) to cancel the broadcast of the feature film Ministry of Love directed by Pavo Marinković, due to the complain of war widows. The protests in the Croatian media led to the decision of HRT to air the film on 11 January 2018.
