BUCHAREST: Box office for Romanian films was up by approximately 19% in the first half of 2015. The total gross was also higher compared to the first half of 2014.
CONSTANTA: Cinema City opened its second 4DX and its 19th cinema in Romania on 29 July 2015. The 10-screen multiplex located in City Park Mall Constanta had an investment of 6.5 m EUR.
ZAGREB: The Belgian/Dutch coproduction Upstream/En Amont du fleuve (working title) has completed a 29-day shoot in Croatia.
BUCHAREST: Dogs/Câini, the debut feature of Bogdan Mirică, started shooting on 27 July 2015. It is produced by Romania's 42 Km Film in coproduction with France's EZ Films and Bulgaria's Argo Film.
ZAGREB: Eight international productions have registered with the Croatian tax incentive scheme in the first half of 2015 and seven are in the pipeline through the end of the year.
PULA: With six foreign projects planning to shoot in the region in 2015, the Istrian Film Commission was launched at the 62nd Pula Film Festival.
TBILISI: Georgia will launch a tax rebate scheme in January 2016 with a 20 percent rebate of the qualifying expenses and an additional 2 percent for Georgian elements. Discussions about the minimum spend are underway.
BUCHAREST: After shooting one and a half months in Montréal and one week in New York, the English-language debut of the Romanian-born France-based filmmaker Radu Mihaileanu, The History of Love, moves to Romania starting 25 July 2015.
