Since 2006, BIAFF has continued to grow and is quickly becoming one of the major cultural events in all of Georgia. Each year, BIAFF features approximately 50 cutting-edge films by some of the world’s finest filmmakers, as well as 35 short films by aspiring directors in the Young Filmmakers division. Over 20 countries are represented each year that attracts regional and international attention.
Festival guests and celebrities in past years have included Zbygnev Rybchinski, Krzystof Zanussi, Jerzy Radziwilowicz, Jerzy Sturr (Poland), Pawel Pawlikoski (UK), Jos Stelling (Nethelands), Abass Kiarostami, Manijet Hekmat, Mohsen Amirousafiri, Ramtin Lavafipour (Iran), Mikheil Kobakhidze (France/Georgia), Nana Jorjadze and Irakli Kvirikadze (Georgia).

BIAFF Industry Meetings is launched this year as part of festival in cooperation of Georgian National Film Center. This year during BIAFF Industry Meetings (21-23 September) will be presented – European Film Academy, H. Balls Fund Rotterdam Film Festival, EAVE, A. Wajda Film School, Polish Film Institute and various producers.
