Supported by the Government of the Turkish Republic, the event which aims at providing a platform for co-productions by bringing together film professionals from Turkey and the Netherlands and increasing the number of such co-operations, also targets at developing dialogue between film professionals and continuous exchange of industry-specific information and culture.
The second session of the Co-productions Panel, the first of which was held on 12 April during Istanbul Film Festival – Meetings on the Bridge, will take place on 27 September during Holland Film Meeting, with the participation of fund managers, producers, TV station representatives and distributors. The closed meeting which will start with a briefing on the Turkish Film Industry to be given by experts from Turkey will host discussions on co-production conditions and support issues. Following this session, directors and producers of the selected projects from the two countries will hold one-to-one meetings with international participants.
The directors and producers of ‘Motherland’ (Anayurdu–Senem Tüzen), ‘South Facing Wall’ (Güneye Bakan Duvar –Kutluğ Ataman) and ‘Dust Cloth’ (Toz Bezi–Ahu Öztürk), selected from among the Meeting on the Bridge projects, will participate in the co-production meetings during Holland Film Meeting.
The Cinema Militan Lecture panel conducted annually within the scope of Holland Film Festival will be hosting director Semih Kaplanoğlu from Turkey this year. The interview with Kaplanoğlu to be conducted by Nick Roddick and Nick James will also be featured in the Sight & Sound magazine. The ‘Egg’ (Yumurta), ‘Milk’ (Süt) and ‘Honey’ (Bal) trilogy by Semih Kaplanoðlu will be shown during the festival. There will be also a closed screening of the trilogy to film academy students.
