The Date has been produced by Tuffi Films and Aalto University and had its premiere in Nordisk Panorama this year. In the film a teenage boys manhood is put to the test in front of two women when he has to host a date for Diablo, the family's stud cat. The film is Jenni Toivoniemi's directorial debut. She currently studies screenwriting and directing at the Aalto University. International sales of The Date are handled by Kurz Film Agentur Hamburg.

JENNI TOIVONIEMI'S THE DATE SELECTED FOR SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL
The short fiction film The Date (Treffit) by Jenni Toivoniemi has been selected for the Sundance film festival. The film will be screened in The Sundance Film Festival's Short Film Program, which has long been established as a place to discover talented directors. The 2013 Short Film program is comprised of 65 short films selected from a record 8,102 submissions.
