IFF Prague: The winner of the Grand Prix is ​​the British film Broken

    The sixth time in Febiofest an interesting competition of first and second films by European artists from last year productions was held.

    This year, 14 movies that are the first or second films by directors were viewed by the Grand Jury, which was comprised of 33 people aged 18-71 years.  The jury was  chaired by legendary seven time Olympic winner, four times World Champion, European Champion and eleven quadruple Sportswoman of Mrs. Vera Čáslavská.

    Broken:

    Skunk's teenage years are unusual. Apart from the first love and family arguments, she must deal with diabetes. The sensitive girl befriends mentally challenged Ricky next door, and she is able to support him even when he's brutally attacked by a furious neighbour. One of his daughters accuses Ricky of sexual abuse, and while this allegation proves untrue, the neighbourhood radically changes after the incident. Rufus Norris's directing debut was awarded a BIFA for Best British Independent Film of the year. Rory Kinnear won the BIFA Award for the Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of a widowed father who protects his daughters' honour with his fists.
