More than 30 new films will be shown in the Turkish Cinema Section of the 32nd Istanbul Film Festival under the National Golden Tulip Competition, Out of Competition, New Turkish Cinema and Documentaries titles. The Istanbul Film Festival will also present Seyfi Teoman Best Debut Film Prize as of this year in memoriam director and producer Seyfi Teoman.

National Golden Tulip Competition
10 films from Turkey, completed in the 2012-2013 season will compete in the National Golden Tulip Competition. The National Competition Jury will be headed by the prominent Turkish film director Tayfun Pirselimoğlu. Painter Komet, actress Nihal Yalçın, Director of Montpellier International Mediterranean Film Festival Jean-François Bourgeot, and Director of TV stations Cine+Club, Classic&Star, Famiz Bruno Deloye are the other members of the National Golden Tulip Competition Jury. The awards to be distributed in 9 categories are Best Film, Best Director, Special Jury Prize, Best Actress, Best Actor, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Editing and Best Music.
Best Film in the National Competition selected by the jury will be awarded with 150.000 TL and Best Director will be awarded with 50.000 TL. Special Jury Prize supported with a monetary award since 2011 will be given to the second best film. Producer of the film awarded with the Special Jury Prize in memory of Onat Kutlar will be given 30.000 US dollars by Efes. Best Actress and Best Actor will be awarded with 10.000 TL each. The Istanbul Film Festival Golden Tulip National Competition Jury will also give the Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, and Best Original Music awards.
This year, 10 films will be vying for the Golden Tulip in the National Competition of the festival before the jury. Following are the competition films including 2 Turkey premieres and 6 world premieres:

Uğurlu will meet with the festival audience.
Documentaries
The documentary selection by the Advisory Board for Documentaries of the festival among more than 40 applications will be shown under “Documentaries’’ title of “Turkish Cinema’’ section.

International Golden Tulip Competition
In the “International Competition” section of the 32nd Istanbul Film Festival, 13 films dealing with themes of art and artist or literature adaptations will vie for the Golden Tulip. The International Golden Tulip Competition will be supported by the Eczacıbaşı Group with a total monetary award of 25,000 Euros. The director of the winning film will receive 10,000 Euros, the company which will distribute the film in Turkey will receive 10,000 Euros, and 5,000 Euros will be given to the film that receives the Special Jury Prize.
The head of jury for the 32nd Istanbul Film Festival International Golden Tulip Competition will be Peter Weir. As well as Weir, the director of In The Name Of which has won the Teddy Award in Berlin (also to be screened in “From the World of Festivals” section of the festival) Malgoska Szumowska; Sebastian Lelio, director of Gloria which won the Golden Bear in Berlin; Iranian actress Fatemeh Simin Motamed-Arya and Screen International Magazine film critic Marc Adams will also be jury members.

Human Rights in Cinema: The Film Award of Council of Europe: FACE
FACE – The Film Award of the Council of Europe, which was established seven years ago and given only at the Istanbul Film Festival, continues to be awarded with the support of the Council of Europe. The FACE Award will be presented to one of the films screened at the “Human Rights in Cinema” section, intended to honour an artistic or documentary film that promotes human rights in accordance with the values of the Council of Europe and the principles of individual freedom, political liberty and the rule of law. In the “Human Rights in Cinema” section that comprises 11 films, a representative from the Council of Europe will present the 10,000 Euros monetary prize to the director of the winning film at the Closing Ceremony of the 32nd Istanbul Film Festival. The Eurimages Fund of the Council of Europe supporting co-production, distribution, and presentation of European cinema is in collaboration for offering the FACE Award.
The FACE Jury will be headed by Anca Damian who was awarded with the Special Jury Prize in the Human Rights Competition with Crulic-The Path Beyond last year. Multi-awarded documentary director Dan Setton, (director of State 194, also screened within the festival), Eurimages General Secretary Roberto Olla and Council of Europe Director General of the Directorate General of Human Rights and Rule of Law Philippe Boillat will also be jury members.

In Memoriam Seyfi Teoman:
Seyfi Teoman Best Debut Film Prize
The Istanbul Film Festival will present an award as of this year in memoriam director and producer Seyfi Teoman, who passed away last year at a young age. All the debut films from Turkey in the International and National Golden Tulip Competitions, “Out of Competition” and “New Turkish Cinema” titles under the “Turkish Cinema” section as well as the films in the “Human Rights in Cinema” section will be eligible for the Seyfi Teoman Best Debut Film Prize.
Director of the film awarded with the Seyfi Teoman Best Debut Film Prize will be presented 30,000 TL bestowed by Cem Yılmaz via CMYLMZ Fikirsanat. The first jury of the Seyfi Teoman Best Debut Film Prize consists of director Emin Alper, actress Saadet Aksoy, and film critic Rüdiger Suchsland from Germany.
FIPRESCI Award
The International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI) will give its awards in the Istanbul Film Festival as in the previous years. One film from the International Competition and one film from the National Competition will receive the FIPRESCI Award. The FIPRESCI jury will have Dana Linssen from the Netherlands as head of jury, Lesley Chow from Australia, Jon Asp from Sweden, Guilhem Caillard from Canada, Berke Göl and Burcu Aykar from Turkey.
Radikal Newspaper People’s Choice Award
As in previous years, Radikal Newspaper (one of the media sponsors of the Festival) will present one film from both National and International Competitions with the Radikal People’s Choice Award. Two films receiving the award will be determined by the audience by submitting their votes to the Radikal voting boxes at the festival theatres. The winning festival-goer will be determined by a drawing and will travel to an international film festival as the guest of Radikal Newspaper.
