HÕFF announced the short movies competition programme and the jury

    Taking place on April 25-28, this year’s Haapsalu Horror and Fantasy Film Festival (HÕFF) will screen 22 feature films from all over the world. Apart from the main programme and the special programme “For Freaks”, the festival’s focus this year is on the British genre film director Ben Wheatley.
    The classical movies this year will be the scandalous Caligula (1979) and Mel Gibson’s breakthrough movie Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior (1981).
    For the first time at HÕFF the European Fantastic Film Festivals Federation Méliès d’Argent’s best fantastic short movie competition will take place, with nine upto 15 minute-long short movies competing:

    3)SECOND WIND  / Dir: Sergei Tsyss / Russia
    4)PERPERTUUM IMMOBILE  / Dir: Marc Marti / Spain
    5)ALASTOR  / Dir:  Rafa Dengra / Spain
    6)DOLLFACE  / Dir: Louis Paxton / UK
    7)IS IT YOU?  / Dir: Moonika Siimets / Estonia
    8)THE TRAP  /  Dir: Alberto Lopez / Belgium
    9)REFUGIO 115  / Dir: Ivan Villamel / Spain
    These 7 short movies will screen in the short movies’ programme outside of competition:
    1)THE CLAW /  Dir: Jacob Parish / UK
    2)22:22 / Dir: Julien Becker / Luxembourg
    3)ANGST, PISS AND DRID / Dir: Fredrik Hana / Norway
    4)YURI'S OMEN / Dir: Jordi Montornés / Spain
    5)FIST OF JESUS / Dir: Adrián Cardona, David Munoz / Spain
    6)SLEEPWORKING / Dir: Gavin Williams / UK
    7)BIOCOP / Dir: Steven Kostanski / Kanada/Canada
    The jury is composed by Indrek Hargla (Estonia, writer), Johannes Palmroos (Sweden, film programmer) and Eero Tammi (Finland critic).

    Haapsalu’s Horror and Fantasy film festival is a member of the international European Fantastic Film Festivals Federation Méliès’ member.
