Deadline for Submissions to Docu Talents from the East Extended
This year’s edition of Docu Talents from the East will once again introduce the most remarkable creative documentary projects from Central and Eastern Europe in the stage of production or post-production planned for theatrical distribution in the period from August 2013 to July 2014. The presentation will be held as part of the industry programme of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival on Tuesday, July 2, 2013. The submission deadline has been extended to May 20! Submit your Documentary Projects to Ex Oriente Film – Deadline: June 1
The eleventh edition of the documentary workshop Ex Oriente Film 2013 starts in July in Rijeka, Croatia. The renowned year-round training programme by the Institute of Documentary Film calls for director-producer teams with documentary projects from the whole Central and Eastern Europe. Join a Unique Project Searching for New Topics and Provocative Questions for Future Documentary Films
Inspiration Forum is the first project of its kind that interconnects directors with world’s influential thinkers, thus opening new topics and inspiring perspectives. In addition to discussions open to public, the lecturers will offer personal consultations to the participants. The previous editions hosted for example the Nobel Prize winner Gao Xingjian, writer and journalist Tariq Ali, Ukrainian feminist group Femen or provocative Russian art group Voina. The third edition of the Inspiration Forum will take place on October 25 - 28, 2013 as part of the industry programme of Jihlava IDFF. The deadline for registration is June 30.

Jihlava IDFF at Marché du Film in Cannes
For the first time in the history of the festival, Jihlava IDFF will be presented at the Marché du Film - a film market organised by the Cannes film festival as a part of its expanding programme dedicated to documentary film. Not only will you be able to meet the representatives of our festival at the so-called Doc Corner, but the director of Jihlava IDFF Marek Hovorka will also be present at the Doc Alliance Selection award ceremony that is to take place for the first time at this event – during Doc Brunch, a social event bringing together over two hundred film professionals. Along with Berlinale in February and our long-term cooperation with Karlovy Vary IFF, the festival in Cannes is the third A category festival where Jihlava IDFF will hold its official presentation.
