The Crash Reel (USA / 2013/ 107 min.) is a documentary showcasing an American snowboarder, Kevin Pearce, who suffered a serious brain injury during a severe accident while preparing for the Winter Olympics in 2010. Not only does the film document Kevin's rehabilitation and attempts to return to the snowboard against the will of his family taking care of him. By focusing on Kevin’s case, the director, Lucy Walker, takes aim at the current situation in professional sports, where the pressure of sponsors and the public compels athletes to ever-higher performances and risk.

The second place, based on audience voting, was taken by the documentary film Blackfish (Gabriela Cowperthwaite / USA / 2013/83 min.). Third place is shared by Notes from the Dark. Aleppo (Michal Przedlacki, Wojciech Szumowski / Poland / 2014 /90 min.) and No Fire Zone: The Killing Fields of Sri Lanka / Callum Macrae / UK / 2013 /93 min.) awarded by a special mention from the Vaclav Havel Jury.
The final festival screening of Blackfish takes place on Wednesday, 12 March from 3 p.m. in the small hall of the Lucerna cinema. No Fire Zone: The Killing Fields of Sri Lanka has its final screening on Wednesday from 9:45 p.m. in the large hall of the Světozor cinema.
The AVAST Foundation Audience Award, along with the other prizes of One World 2014, will be presented at a ceremony on Wednesday, 12 March, beginning at 7 p.m. in the Lucerna cinema. The following filmmakers will be arriving in Prague to accept their awards: the Hungarian director of the documentary Judgment in Hungary, Eszter Hajdú, (Best Film Award), the South African director of the film Miners Shot Down, Rehad Desai (Václav Havel Jury Award) and the producer of the Swiss film The Blocher Experience, Adrian Blaser (special mention of Václav Havel Jury).
