The first one aims at fresh filmmakers, whose documentary debuts or second feature films will be included in the competition section Opus Bonum, Between the Seas or Czech Joy.
“This new award will be a cross-section of geographically defined competition categories. We want to emphasise the discovery character of the festival programming selection which, in the long-term, tries to bring to light unknown filmmakers and surprising works,” adds Marek Hovorka.
The second new competition section will be a contest of short documentary films up to 30 minutes of running time that is supposed to highlight unique short-length documentaries.
Your can submit your documentary films and experimental documentaries to the 18th Jihlava IDFF by the following deadlines:
- Deadline for films completed in 2013: April 30, 2014.
- Deadline for films completed in 2014: June 30, 2014.
- You can also submit a rough cut of your film by July 31, 2014.
