On the occasion of the 49th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, the FilmFestival Cottbus, together with the East-West co-production market connecting cottbus (coco) and its main supporter, the Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg, invites guests to an East European Brunch on Monday, 7 July, 2014. The popular meeting place for international representatives of the film industry will take place for the 13th time in conjunction with the renowned Eastern European A-festival. The guests will be welcomed by Managing Director Jörg Ackermann as well as by Bernd Buder, Programme Director at FilmFestival Cottbus and Director at connecting cottbus.

The East European Brunch offers an excellent opportunity to inform oneself and exchange thoughts on the thematic focuses of the 24th edition of the FilmFestival Cottbus, which will be held from 4 to 9 November. The annually alternating key theme of the >FocusglobalEAST traces i 2014 film-making in Italy. The new section „Heimat | Domownja“ explores further Sorbian-Wendish and regional film-making.

connecting cottbus, the East-West co-production market of the FilmFestival Cottbus, will take place on 6 and 7 November this year. An independent jury will select 12 feature-film projects and present them to the professional public assembled in Cottbus. In addition to project pitching and the subsequent One2One meetings, panel discussions and workshops will focus on information and analyses regarding current developments in promotion policies and market strategies for international co-productions.
