In six competitions we shall present 108films selected from over 1,200 entries from around the world. Polish filmmakers will compete in three categories: Amateurs, Students and Independents. In Eastward Window competition audience will see films from Central and Eastern Europe, and in Whole Wide World competition - films from other countries. Films in the five competitions will be evaluated by international jury who will decide on the Grand Prix winner of 2,000 euros and distribution agreement with a world leading distribution company - ShortsTV. A novelty this year is a competition called Kids, for the youngest viewers who will also be a jury of the competition.

A complete list of films selected for the competitions can be found at: http://www.zubroffka.pl/en/selekcja-2014/

In additional non-competition sections the organizers have prepared a series of special screenings, such as animated documentaries, midnight shorts, a selection of short forms on women of the East, as well as something for gourmets: Bavarian and Spanish film breakfasts.

As usual, you can expect a powerful beginning and a spectacular ending of the Festival. During the opening, Buster Keaton’s comedy shorts will be accompanied by DJ Qbert’s live soundtrack. This legendary American DJ has been granted "Grand Master of the Hip-Hop Culture" title! The awards ceremony will be followed by MISTER D’s concert – a music project conceived by the most famous young Polish writer Dorota Masłowska. During club nights, the most original representatives of contemporary hip-hop - British band YOUNG FATHERS will definitely rock the house.

Festival provides its visitors with several workshops and discussion panels. This year, Canadian animator Jeff Chiba Stearns will offer the participants a trip to the world of... office supplies, and animating their stories by means of ordinary sticky notes. Workshops with a film director, photographer and traveller Marcin Filipowicz aim to encourage retirees to make their own films. Moreover, there will be journalist workshops with Michael Pattison (British writer and film critic whose texts were published in "Sight & Sound", "The Guardian", "Film Comment," "Little White Lies", "Fandor"). During the Festival you can also expect industry meetings and discussion panels.
