“Persbrandt can be regarded as a big film star in every sense – both for his roles as well as the buzz surrounding him. Even though the larger audience knows him best for the role of Beorn in the ‘Hobbit’ series, the friends of the Black Nights certainly remember him for the best actor award in 2010,” says Tiina Lokk, director of the festival.
This year Persbrandt will present at the Black Nights the western “Salvation” by director Kristian Levring and “Someone You Love”, a drama by Pernille Fischer Christensen. Persbrandt is also one of the main acts in the Swedish film “Nobody Owns Me” that runs in the Just Film programme.
Mikael Persbrandt arrives in Tallinn on the 23rd November and the audience has a chance to meet him at screenings:
· 23rd November at 19.15 Coca-Cola Plaza 2 – “The Salvation” a special screening with red carpet
· 24th November at 19.30 Solaris 2 (Tartu) – “Someone You Love”
One of the highlighted guests of this year’s Black Nights, Mikael Persbrandt has been in main or minor roles on the Black Nights screens many times before.
The International Film Producers’ Association has designated Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival as a non-specialized competitive festival. Black Nights Film Festival is the 15th international film festival to be inducted to that category by FIAPF. The most influential film festival of the European North Eastern region takes place from 14th to 30th November.
