Legend of Polish cinema Krzysztof Zanussi arrives at the Black Nights
One of the best-known Polish film directors Krzysztof Zanussi arrives in Tallinn today. Zanussi acclaimed international fame with his first full-length features “Struktura krysztalu” (1969) and “Family Life” (1971). Tonight he will present his latest “The Foreign Body” (2014) at a red carpet special screening at the Black Nights Film festival. “The Foreign Body” premiered at this year’s Toronto film festival. Mikael Persbrandt's lead role in Kadri Kõusaar's upcoming "Nordic Instinct" announced at the Black Nights
Mikael Persbrandt will play the leading part in the new film by Estonian director Kadri Kõusaar “Nordic Instinct”, to be shot in 2015. The lead actress in the Scandinavian film-noir, based on the novel “Lang” by Kjell Westö, is Malin Buska.
At the Black Nights Persbrandt presents the western “The Salvation” by director Kristian Levringand “Someone You Love”, a drama by Pernille Fischer Christensen. Persbrandt is also one of the mainacts in the Swedish film “Nobody Owns Me” that runs in the Just Film programme. Read more ...

Black Nights Film Festival and Estonian start-up community launch a new platform for film and media tech Digital Corner that presents the latest from on-location and aerial photography solutions to postproduction wizards of Estonian and regional companies during the industry week.
Estonia, the birthplace of Skype and a country with most start-ups per capita in the world has taken a huge step towards becoming world’s leading tech products hub for the film sector. Digital Corner is a physical exhibition space that presents demos of the latest gadgets.
Airborne will present its new flagship, the revolutionary 12-motor Heavylift specially to carry Arri Alexa at Industry @ Tallinn. Digital Sputnik has recently contributed to the technology behind Werner Herzog’s “Queen of the Desert”. Helicam Services is the leading close range aerial video, photo and cinematography service provider in Europe. Orbital Vox has been working with local and international projects for more than 10 years, having been credited for short films, commercials, film scanning for Japan and restoration for Germany, dubbing for Hollywood majors and feature films post production from Finland to Korea.
After its showcase week at I@T the Digital Corner is set move to international film markets like Berlin and Cannes in the coming months.
