Aline Schmid is also the producer of the film Horizons, directed by Eileen Hofer, which received a Special Mention Award at Visions du Réel. The jury lauded the documentary as a “film that proved the power of the poetic, the beauty of movement”. The fiction debut, Children, by Slovak documentary filmmaker Jaro Vojtek, co-produced by Pavlína Kalandrová (Czech Emerging Producer 2014), won awards in three categories – best script, best photography and best supporting actress – at the International Film Festival in Beijing. The jury was chaired by Luc Besson, featuring also Korean filmmaker Kim Ki-duk and Brazilian director Fernando Meirelles.
