Tomek Ślesicki's August is the best live action film of under 15 minutes at Palm Springs ShortFest 2015
Tomek Ślesicki's diploma short (BA film directing) August won Best Live Action Short 15 Minutes Or Under and Special Mention For Exceptional Cinematography at the Palm Springs ShortFest. The award makes the film eligible for Oscar consideration.
Tomek considers himself a cinematographer who moonlights as a director, but his debut has established him up firmly in both categories. The award at ShortFest marks second time August gains recognition for cinematographic achievement at a major festival. The film received a special mention at the Gdynia Festival of Polish Films in 2014.
„I'm truly humbled” - he posted on his facebook page- „Thanks so much for your support, guys!”
August
An uncommon love story, August follows two teenagers on a trip around local fields, with a six year old under their care. The question in the air: "do we really want to do this?" A film about first love and the things we do for it.
