We are happy to announce the names of this year's A Sunday in the Country participants. The following European young film critics are going to meet at a charming house in Byków, near Wrocław on the weekend of July 30th - August 2nd: Anka Herbut (Poland), winner of Krzysztof Mętrak film review competition, Andrey Arnold (Austria), Antonin Tesar (Czech Republic), Astrid Jansen (Belgium), Kaja Klimek (Poland), Katerina Lambrinova (Bulgaria), Pete Wu (the Netherlands), Tara Krajalica (Serbia), and Thomas Sejersen (Denmark).
They will be accompanied by Pascal Edelmann of the European Film Academy and Ula Sniegowska of the New Horizons Association as well as an experienced British critic of The Independent, Kaleem Aftab.
They are going to collectively watch movies and discuss them as well as cook and eat together. They are going to be joined by filmmakers-guests of the T-Mobile New Horizons International Film Festival, Rania Attieh and Daniel Garcia, directors/producers of H, screened in Main Competition of the New Horizons as well as Magnus von Horn and Mariusz Włodarski, director and producer of The Hereafter, which premiered in Cannes in Directors' Fortnight this year and in Panorama section of the T-mINHFF.
Besides the primary networking purpose, the workshop aims at raising awareness of the film critic role and state-of-the-art film journalism as well as exchanging practices, know-how and professional skills among the young participants.
The get-together is organized by the T-Mobile New Horizons IFF and European Film Academy in collaboration with EUNIC as well as Austrian Forum, Czech Center, Danish Cultural Center, the cultural mission of Wallonie-Bruxelles and the Embassy of the Netherlands in Warsaw.
