We present 15 titles, which will compete for The Best Documentary Award at 31st Warsaw Film Festival.

• Autism in Love / Autyzm i miłość, dir. Matt Fuller (USA 2015), 75 min.
  A documentary seeking to learn how adults with autism find and maintain romantic relationships. European premiere.
  
• Brothers / Bracia, dir. Wojciech Staroń (Poland 2015), 71 min.
  Two brothers managed to escape from a Soviet forced labour camp but are unable to escape from each other. One of them is an artist and a dreamer, the other, a pragmatic scientist; chalk and cheese. They share a love-hate relationship. A film by the famous documentary filmmaker, award-winner in the Locarno 2015 festival's Critics' Week section. Polish premiere.
• Chuck Norris vs. Communism / Chuck Norris kontra komunizm, dir. Ilinca Calugareanu (UK, Romania, Germany 2015), 80 min.
  In the 1980s Romanians held clandestine screenings in their homes. The call of freedom was brought to them by Jean-Claude Van Damme, Sylvester Stallone and, of course, the invincible Chuck Norris. A fascinating documentary about people for whom muscular American heroes were the embodiment of freedom. Polish premiere.
  
• A Flickering Truth / Migotanie prawdy, dir. Pietra Brettkelly (New Zealand 2015), 91 min.
  A documentary about cinephiles whose courage and determination helped protect some priceless cultural heritage of Afghanistan. Risking their lives, they saved 8,000 hours of film from destruction. Polish premiere.
  
• Gayby baby, dir. Maya Newell (Australia 2015), 86 min.
  A unique documentary about children being brought up by same-sex parents. Showing us their lives, the children present their personal point of view about the whole situation with humour and great maturity. European premiere.
  
• The Ground We Won / Zdobyte pole, dir. Christopher Pryor (New Zealand 2015), 90 min.
  A touching black-and-white documentary about strong manly friendship, about battling it out together in the rugby field and outside it. The camera mercilessly pursues a new take on the mythology of Kiwi manhood. Polish premiere.
  
• Horizon / Sjóndeildarhringur / Horyzont, dir. Fridrik Thor Fridriksson, Bergur Bernburg, (Island, Dennmark 2015), 80 min.
  Oscar-nominated director Fridrik Thor Fridriksson and co-director Bergur Bernburg helm this lovely documentary portrait of influential Icelandic landscape painter Georg Gudni, whose innovative interpretations of forms and ideas paved the way for the renaissance of Icelandic landscape painting. European premiere.
  
• Isolated / Aislados / Odcięci od świata, dir. Marcela Lizcano (Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico 2015), 73 min.
  540 people inhabit the most densely populated artificial island in the Colombian Caribbean. Through a look at life on the island, the islanders' daily struggles and interactions, and their fight to remain in their territory, Isolated reflects on man's role as an inhabitant of a larger universe. World premiere.
  
• Kings of Nowhere / Los reyes del pueblo que no existe / Królowie nieistniejącego miasta, dir. Betzabé García (Mexico 2015), 83 min.
  Visually breathtaking, this is a poetic portrait of San Marcos, a town flooded during construction of a dam and now inhabited by just three families. Polish premiere.
  
• On Football / O futebol / Futbol, dir. Sergio Oksman (Spain 2015), 68 min.
  For Sergio the FIFA World Cup is a good excuse for a father-son reunion and a theme for a film. But as the days go by, their relationship starts to wander into unknown territory. A surprising documentary balancing between reportage and personal vivisection. Polish premier
• Sick / Bolesno / Choroba, dir. Hrvoje Mabić, (Croatia 2015), 95 min.
  A documentary about Ana and her girlfriend Martina who plan to get married in Amsterdam. Ana is struggling with demons from her past, when her parents and her psychiatrist tried to cure her homosexuality. International premiere.
  
• A Sinner In Mecca / Grzesznik w Mekce, reż. Parvez Sharma, (USA, India, Germany, Saudi Arabia 2015), 79 min.
  In this bold documentary Parvez Sharma returns to the issue of homosexuality in Muslim countries. Deciding on a pilgrimage to Mecca, he is in violation of two taboos, which can be punishable by death: being gay and filming holy sites. Polish premiere.
  
• Tuk-Tuk, reż. Romany Saad (Egypt 2015), 75 min.
  Abdallah, Bika and Sharon get on their tuk-tuks every day to drive around the always crowded streets of Cairo. They struggle with the police, thieves and the competition. A few days in the lives of some boys who had to grow up faster than their peers. European premiere.
  
• Somos Cuba - We Are Cuba / Somos Cuba - Wir sind Kuba / Kuba to my, reż. Annett Ilijew (Germany 2015), 91 min.
  A unique record of the daily lives of people living in the poor neighbourhoods of Havana. Thanks to tapes smuggled into Cuba, an amateur filmmaker takes us on a seven-year journey through life in his immediate surroundings. World premiere.
  
• Yallah! Underground, reż. Farid Eslam, (Czech Republic, Germany, United Kingdom,Egypt, Canada, USA 2015), 85 min.
  The documentary follows the most important progressive music artists from Egypt, Lebanon, Palestine, Jordan and Israel through the years from 2009 to 2013. We get to see the most open-minded and creative musicians who integrate aspects of different cultures and philosophies into their work. Polish premiere.
