IFCF Febiofest features wide selection of Slovak Films

    Rich programme of the 23rd International Film Clubs Festival Febiofestincludes competition of short films from the countries of Visegrad Group (Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland) and Austria as a guest country. Slovak cinema is represented at the Febiofest by recent films, and archive films from the Slovak Film Institute, e.g. the digitally restored films by Slovak director Dušan Trančík: Photographing the House Dwellers, The Gallows, and Commemoration.

    ICFC Febiofest welcomes the First Edition of Industry Days

    The platform Industry Days kicks off with a two-day programme including a presentation of the upcoming Slovak films Works in Progress.

    Prague International Film Festival – FEBIOFEST

    Three recent Slovak films have their Czech premieres at the Festival: The Cleaner (d. Peter Bebjak), Murderous Tales (d. Jan Bubeníček) and Eva Nová (d. Marko Škop) with Emília Vášaryová in the main role. Moreover, the Czech Febiofest screens Dragon´s Return (d. Eduard Grečner) to honour Emília Vášaryová, the first Lady of Slovak cinema.

    Rebels with Camera: Czechoslovak New Wave

    The showcase brings the best of the Czechoslovak New Wave into two Polish cities Wroclaw and Warsaw. More than 10 Slovak key films from 1960-ties are shown within 14 week. Screenings are accompanied by lectures and panel discussions with Czech, Slovak and Polish filmmakers, theorist and historians themed on culture, historical and social context of the 1960-ties in Czechoslovakia.
