Warsaw Film Festival: Meet us in Cannes!

Our programming team will attend the 70th Festival de Cannes (16-27 May, 2017).

We will be looking for brand NEW films - features, documentaries and shorts completed in 2017, preferably still before their festival premiere. We are looking for interesting, expertly told stories that redefine the language of modern cinema. If you have any questions and/or would like to set up a meeting at Cannes, please contact Agnieszka Oryl (This email address is being protected from spambots. Competitive sections at Warsaw Film Festival - with cash awards - are as follows:
    - International Competition
    - Competition 1-2, for debuts and second features
    - Free Spirit Competition
    - Documentary Features Competition - EFA qualifying
    - Short Films Competition - Academy Awards (R) qualifying.

    Non-competitive sections:
    - Special Screenings
    - Discoveries
    - Family Cinema Weekend.

Submission deadline: 31st of July, 2017. It's OK to submit works in progress.

We are looking forward to watching your latest films and we don't mind watching them before you do the final sound mix or colour correction. Links and DVDs are most welcome. Please let us know if your film already has a Polish distributor attached.

Please keep in mind that Warsaw Industry Days, organised with the Polish Film Institute and the Polish Film Promotion, will take place on 19-21 October, 2017 (from Thursday till Saturday). For the very first time, the event will include Warsaw Co-Production Forum and will continue the tradition of Warsaw Screenings. At Warsaw Works-In-Progress we will present selected works-in-progress from Poland (including co-productions), while Doc Lab Poland (organised by the Ślesicki Foundation) will focus on presentations of documentaries in various stages of production and post-production. The other events are as follows:

Warsaw Next - workshop for young Polish filmmakers who have at least one short film to their credit; meetings with Polish and international professionals; lectures, masterclasses, participation in Warsaw Industry Days.

FIPRESCI Warsaw Critics Project – workshop for young film journalists and critics from Eastern Europe, organised with FIPRESCI.

Open Workshop "The Art of Film Editing" – organised with Polish Film Editors Association.

First Cut Lab Warsaw - invited experts will watch rough cut of selected films and suggest editing changes. The event will be organised with Polish Film Institute.
