With its two Works in Progress presentations, Industry@Tallinn &; Baltic Event look forward to showcasing a nice batch of films on the eve of their international run: 8 International Works in Progress projects from Vietnam, Israel, Colombia and other countries, and 11 titles for the Baltic Works in Progress showcase from Estonia, Finland, Latvia and Lithuania.
The 2018 Works in Progress jury consists of Tatiana Detlofson (Mediaplan, USA), Alena Shumakova (Quinzaine des Réalisateurs, France; Pingyao Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon International Film Festival, China) and Alexandre Moreau (Memento Films International, France).
The main awards for the Works in Progress event are the Post Production Award (worth 10 000 Euros) for international competition entries and the Baltic Event Works in Progress Award (3000 Euros) for Baltic titles.
CO-PRODUCTION MARKET PROJECTS
16 projects will be presented in the official selection of the 17th Co-Production Market taking place between November 27th and 30th at Industry@Tallinn &; Baltic Event during Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival. The selected projects are from various countries including: Romania, Netherlands, Hungary, Ukraine, Estonia, Latvia, France.
This year's slate contains stories of both personal and political repression, mental health issues, and features a number of films about female connection. As always, Industry@Tallinn and Baltic Event welcomes both established filmmakers as well as promising debutants, and we are glad to have earned the trust of a string of very experienced producers.
A Eurimages Co-Production Development Award worth 20 000 Euros will be handed out by a jury consisting of Emma Scott, Production and Distribution Manager, Screen Ireland, Ireland; Jeremy Zelnik, Head of Industry, Les Arcs Film Festival, France; Giovanni Pompili, Producer, Kino Produzioni, Italy.
In addition, one project will receive the Screen International Best Pitch Award, offering coverage of the life-cycle of the winning film, and two producers will receive the Cannes Marché du Film Producers’ Network Award for Promising Young Producer with free accreditations to next year’s edition.

POWR BALTIC STORIES EXCHANGE PROJECTS
The 11th POWR Baltic Stories Exchange international forum brings 11 interesting projects. Selected Nordic and Baltic screenwriters participate in a 4-day scriptwriters’ workshop that gives them access to an international forum where they can present their projects and writing talent during the largest regional film market in Northeastern Europe. Selected scriptwriters will present their projects on the November 29.
This year, POWR has partnered up with In Focus, a Finnish initiative aimed at female filmmakers that provides an incubator to support four projects to cross the bridge from script to the production stage. Like last year, the workshop will be run by experienced tutors Valeria Richter and Helene Granqvist.

SCRIPT POOL TALENTS
The second edition of the script competition Script Pool Tallinn presents five emerging artists and fresh voices from around the world.
Five teams consisting of scriptwriters and producers will be competing in Tallinn at the Script Pool open pitch on November 29. The Script Pool Tallinn competition winner receives the prize of 5000 Euros, provided by the leading international sales & distribution company Global Screen GmbH.
Marietta von Hausswolff, Swedish screenwriter and script consultant who has written and co-produced the award-winning Call Girl (2012) will be this year’s MIDPOINT script doctor as she will mentor selected Script Pool Tallinn screenwriters and give feedback on their projects.
Script Pool Tallinn 2018 International Jury members are: Katharina Suckale, producer at Bombay Berlin Film Productions, Marcello Paolillo, Head of Art of Panic, Stepln project manager at Locarno Film Festival and Julia Weber, Head of Theatrical Sales & Acquisitions of Global Screen GmbH.
BLACK NIGHTS STARS
Industry@Tallinn has selected five young actors and actresses to the second edition of Black Nights Stars (formerly Screen Stars Tallinn) programme, to be presented during the Black Nights Film Festival.
The second Black Nights Stars programme will take place between November 26th and 28th during the Industry@Tallinn &; Baltic Event and is designed to help young actors from the Baltic Sea region to promote their talent outside their home territory, meet with international film professionals and gain practical skills for future international career.
The 2018 jury consists of editor Matt Mueller (Screen International), Estonian film producer Katrin Kissa (November, The Temptation of St. Tony, Autumn Ball), former European Shooting Star, actor (The Man Who Looks Like Me, Autumn Ball), director and writer Rain Tolk, UK- and USA-based casting director Jeremy Zimmerman (Moon, Hellboy, Willow, Keeping Mum) and creative producer Claudia Landsberger.
The Black Nights Film Festival gives out the Best Young Estonian Actor Award, named after Estonian-Polish film actor and singer Bruno O’Ya, the 2018 winner will join the five actors for the event.
