WORKS IN PROGRESS 2019
The presentation of the new quality films in post-production or recently finished films from the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, the Balkans, the former Soviet Union, the Middle East and North Africa. This year, Works in Progress will be held for the 15th time.
The last year’s WiP winner ALL THIS VICTORY (dir. Ahmad Ghossein – Lebanon, France, Germany) was awarded 90 000 EUR in services from our festival partners UPP, Soundsquare and 10 000 EUR cash award from Barrandov Studio.

EURIMAGES LAB PROJECT AWARD 2019
For the fourth time, Karlovy Vary IFF will select a recipient of the Eurimages Lab Project Award.
The award is intended for the most promising cutting-edge film project which is made outside traditional rules of filmmaking both in terms of dramaturgy and production.
The last year’s ELP winner NORMAL (dir. Adele Tulli – Italy, Sweden) received 50 000 EUR cash award from Eurimages. The finished film had its world premiere at the 69th Berlin International Film Festival.
The deadline for submissions is May 8, 2019.

The presentation of the new documentary films in production, post-production or recently finished from the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, the Balkans, the former Soviet Union, the Middle East and North Africa.
The event gives a space to directors and producers to present their documentaries to an audience of film industry experts.
The last year’s DiP winner THE PROJECTIONIST (dir. Yuriy Shylov – Ukraine, Germany, Poland) received 5 000 EUR cash award.

FIRST CUT LAB 2019
For the first time ever, KVIFF Eastern Promises platform is happy to become the official second hub for First Cut Lab – an expert workshop for fiction films in editing phase for films from Central & Eastern Europe and the Arab world.
First Cut Lab Karlovy Vary is a programme designed for three long feature fiction films in editing phase: one from Central and Eastern Europe, one from Czech Republic or Slovakia and one from the Middle East. Selected filmmakers will screen their rough cuts in private sessions and receive expert feedbacks on their edits from three top international film professionals (creative producers, festival programmers, sales agents, etc) as well as tailor-made advice from a consultant editor.
The main goal is to foster the artistic potential of the selected rough cuts and, at the same time, to increase the sales, festival and circulation potential of the completed films.
The deadline for submissions is May 13, 2019.

If you are planning to visit the 54th Karlovy Vary IFF, please note that Industry Accreditation requests close on June 4, 2019. It will not be possible to apply for Industry accreditation after this date, even during the course of the Karlovy Vary IFF.
Industry Days at KVIFF 2019 will be held from Sunday, June 30 to Wednesday, July 3. Hundreds of producers, buyers, distributors, sales agents and film festivals representatives are expected to attend a wide range of industry events on these days.
