PÖFF SHORTS BECOMES ACADEMY QUALIFYING
We have some wonderful news as the Black Nights subfestival PÖFF Shorts, dedicated to short films and animations, has just been certified as an Academy Qualifying film festival!
The status means that, should they be eligible, films winning a qualifying award at PÖFF Shorts will be eligible to submit their films for consideration for both the Live Action and Animation Short Awards at the Academy Awards

The Polish Film Academy has announced that this year's recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award will be the legendary Polish actress Maja Komorowska, who got the same prize from Black Nights in 2014.
Maja has created unforgettable roles in the films of Krzysztof Zanussi (Family Life, Behind the Wall, Quarterly Balance Sheet and Gallop) and Andrzej Wajda (The Wedding, Katyn), Tadeusz Konwicki (How Far Away, How Close; Lava) and the renowned Decalogue I by Krzysztof Kieślowski.
Also, #PÖFF23 entries Corpus Christi and The Coldest Game (which was in the Official Selection) were victorious.
