News from The Astra Film Festival. `The Lifeboats` Special Programme has started

The films produced by journalists can be watched
from boats and pedal boats floating on the lake
or from Casa Podarului, located near the screen

The Lifeboats Programme at the Astra Film Festival has begun. During this programme, the audience can watch films projected on a huge screen placed between windmills, directly from boats floating on the lake. Tonight, those who will come to the screening will board the boats on the chords of the `Zece Prăjini` Marching Band, and after the film, starting at 10pm, they will enjoy a unique concert offered by Corina Sîrghi and Taraful Jean Americanu. The special Lifeboats programme began last night, with the screening of the investigation "The Genocide of Secular Oaks", conducted by Alex Nedea, journalist for Recorder. Today, the public can watch for the first time a report made by Paul Angelescu, from "Romania, I love you", about the forest fires in Greece. And tomorrow, a documentary produced by Alex Dima (Pro TV, `Romania, I love you!`) about the way wood gets stolen in the forests surrounding Sibiu will be screened.

The first event of the special Lifeboats programme began on Tuesday night, when the audience boarded boats and pedal boats on the music of the `Zece Prăjini` Band, played from the floating ferry. Both those in the boats and the spectators who took their seats on the benches installed on land, at Casa Podarului, had the opportunity to see the documentary-investigation "The Genocide of Secular Oaks", made by Alex Nedea and David Muntean. The Recorder journalists walked through the forests of several counties managed by the Muntenia Forest District, gathered evidence, and confronted all those involved in the phenomenon of cutting healthy secular oaks, under the pretext of `sanitizing the forest`. After the screening, Alex Nedea answered the questions asked by the audience, in a unique dialogue that took place right on the lake.

The special Lifeboats programme will continue today with the screening of an absolute premiere: the film `Under the sign of the red code` produced by journalist Paul Angelescu (Pro TV, Romania show, I love you!). The journalist filmed this documentary in Greece, during the devastating fires this summer, which burned tens of thousands of hectares of forests.

The film will be screened for the first time tonight at #AFF2021 and will be followed by a discussion between the audience and journalist Paul Angelescu. The organizers point out that it is forbidden to use cameras while watching the `Under the sign of the red code` investigation. Tomorrow, the Lifeboats programme will continue with the screening of another film by `Romania, I love you!`,  namely the investigation entitled `Watch Me Rob You Blind`, produced by journalist Alex Dima, which documented the way wood gets stolen in the forests surrounding Sibiu. Both the boarding and the return to the shore will be accompanied by the `Zece Prăjini` band, which will contribute to a very special atmosphere. The audience taking part in the screenings of the Lifeboats Programme will receive life jackets during boarding and, if they wish, they can be accompanied during this experience by the famous teddy bears.

The special programme of Wednesday evening, September 8th, will be completed by another special moment: the concert of Corina Sîrghi and Taraful Jean Americanu (Târgul de Țară, 10pm), which will definitely warm the atmosphere. Admission to the concert is free, provided you present a ticket with a value of 0, which can be purchased online (from Eventbook), or from the Astra Museum.
