The international co-production forum will take place from 4 to 6 October 2023 on-site in Warsaw and online, as part of the Young Horizons International Film Festival (former Kids Kino IFF).

Shortlisted from 109 submissions, 22 projects have joined the previously selected titles, the winners of our Exchange Award presented at m:brane, CEEA Forum, Animarkt Stop Motion Forum, and BrLab.

2 pitching days

24 projects in the in-development section and 2 projects in the work-in-progress section will be pitched during the second and third day of the event.

Among the selected projects, there are films and series addressing different age groups (preschoolers, children, teens, young adults). With a wide range of genres, from comedies, through drama, to science-fiction, fantasy, and even folk horror, we hope that each of our guests will find a project to cooperate with.

The projects selected for our forum were recommended by our selection committee: Eleanor Coleman, Indie Sales & Blue Spirit, France; Julie Skaufel, Onkelfilm, Norway; Alexandre Dupont-Geisselmann, Farbfilm Verleih, Germany; Suzanne Kelly, RTÉ, Ireland; Natalia Cupryjak-Tworkiewicz, Canal + Poland; and Arild Halvorsen, Fabelaktiv, Norway.

In addition to the pitching sections, Polish animated film “Diplodocus” has been chosen for the market presentation section.

Young Horizons – a new chapter begins!

Young Horizons is one of the key branches of the New Horizons Association. It is responsible for distributing and supporting high-quality films and series for young audiences. The Young Horizons brand includes several complementary areas: theatrical distribution (Young Horizons Distribution) and online distribution (Young Horizons VOD); film education for preschools and schools (Young Horizons Education); development and promotion of films and series in Poland and across the world (Young Horizons Industry); and the peak event of the year – The Young Horizons International Film Festival.

About Young Horizons Industry

Young Horizons Industry (former Kids Kino Industry) is the industry part of the Young Horizons International Film Festival. A three-day international co-production forum takes place from 4 to 6 October 2023 in Warsaw and online. Each year, around 300 film professionals come to Poland to exchange ideas, share their experience, and develop new content for young audiences. Young Horizons Industry is a space where we help connect projects with potential co-producers, distributors, sales agents, broadcasters, and film funds.

Besides the forum, Young Horizons Industry is a series of programmes and projects aimed at supporting and promoting film and series development for young audiences such as script development workshops and mentoring programmes for upcoming filmmakers.
