The number of admissions of the 27th Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival was 88 400, beating the previous result with 10 000 admissions. The all-time record is 90 000+ admssions in 2019. 

There has also been a significant rise in the online media coverage of the festival, as the estimated potential global media reach from the 1st of January until the 28th of November was 19,9 billion potential media contacts (14 billion in 2022), according to Meltwater monitoring services. During the year 2023, the festival was mentioned in 6800+ articles in 93 countries. 

According to PÖFF director Tiina Lokk, audiences are continuously back in cinemas after the Corona pandemic. "We had a high-quality programme, and people have an appetite for culture, as it acts as a refuge in difficult times and stress," she said.

In terms of estimates, PÖFF brought back around €11 million to the Estonian economy this year.
