    SCRIPT POOL COMPETITION SHOWCASES FIVE COMPELLING SCRIPTS

    This year’s international Script Pool competition, which highlights film scripts, features projects from Finland and Latvia, along with three co-productions involving Germany.

    Triin Tamberg, the manager of Script Pool programme commented that this year’s selection includes exciting projects that would resonate with audiences. "During the event, project representatives will have an excellent opportunity to work with renowned script doctors and improve their pitch, which will surely increase the projects' potential in the future," she adds, as each project will be able to pitch its story to a top specialist in the field and receive one-on-one feedback.

    HONORARY TV BEATS PRODUCER AWARD INTRODUCED AT TALLINN’S INDUSTRY EVENT

    We’re excited to announce the Honorary TV Beats Producer Award launch, part of the TV Beats Forum, the drama series segment of Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event. In 2024, the award will be presented to Ukrainian independent producer Kateryna Vyshnevska!

    “This award is meant to spotlight a prominent and inspiring figure from our region, covering the Nordics, Baltics and Central Eastern Europe, who has made a significant impact in the field of TV Drama production. Kateryna Vyshnevska’s role in building and growing the internationalisation of Ukraine’s Film.UA has been remarkable, culminating in executive producing the show Those Who Stayed, a contemporary landmark series co-produced and financed with several European countries,” Petri Kemppinen and Roosa Toivonen, Co-Heads of TV Beats Forum say.

    THE FIRST SHORT INDUSTRY SHORTCUT FOSTERS THE NEW GENERATION OF FILMMAKERS IN THE SHORT FILM INDUSTRY

    Together with PÖFF Shorts, an Academy Award, BAFTA and EFA-qualifying short film festival, we are excited to launch Shorts Industry Shortcut, a guiding platform for emerging filmmakers.

    The two-day event, which takes place during the Black Nights Film Festival in Tallinn, aims to support the careers of a new generation of filmmakers in the short film industry, while at the same time taking a closer look at current trends in (short) film and strengthening ties between the Baltic and international short film communities. The event will be filled with masterclasses, inspiring panel discussions with industry leaders and networking opportunities.

    TV BEATS MASTERCLASS: WORKING IN VR WRITERS’ ROOM!

    On Monday, 18 November 16:30 TV Beats Words Across Europe (WAE) is hosting an exclusive 1.5-hour hands-on VR writers' room session for up to five pre-registered writers, with headsets provided for the experience. Led by Joachim Friedmann, a seasoned screenwriter and expert in serial storytelling, the session will include a collaborative story outlining exercise around a surprise theme.

    For 22 editions, Industry@Tallinn &; Baltic Event has been a go-to gathering for film professionals, with many returning year after year.     FRAME WITHIN A FRAME INTRODUCES EIGHT TALENTED CINEMATOGRAPHERS TO THE INDUSTRY

    The second edition of Frame Within a Frame, a tailor-made programme for talented cinematographers, welcomes eight young professionals across the world in Tallinn in November. During the four days, attendees can learn from acknowledged cinematographers Roberto Schaefer and Ville Penttilä and show their works to industry professionals.

    ARRI ILLUMINATES FRAME WITHIN A FRAME

    Exciting news for filmmakers and cinematography enthusiasts. ARRI, the global leader in professional motion picture equipment known for its innovative cameras and lighting solutions, is thrilled to announce its partnership with the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (PÖFF).

    As part of this collaboration, ARRI will present special sessions focused on lighting during the Frame Within A Frame program, designed specifically for cinematographers. The sessions will offer invaluable insights and hands-on experience.

    25 000 EURO AWARD BY ATM VIRTUAL WILL BE HANDED OUT TO ONE OF THE GENRE FILM TITLES AT THE EUROPEAN GENRE FORUM

    The 10th edition of the European Genre Forum, the only European training programme for up and coming genre filmmakers, will present its eight projects from eight production countries during the final lab in Tallinn. For the first time, one of the projects will receive an award of 25,000 euros, consisting of one day rental of an LED stage, preceded by one day of pre-lighting for the production of a selected film.

    The award, presented by a virtual production studio ATM VIRTUAL, will be handed out to the project that could use the virtual production services the best.
