The 29th edition of the Black Nights Film Festival (PÖFF) is officially accepting submissions—along with its two exciting sub-festivals: Just Film, dedicated to youth and children’s cinema, and PÖFF Shorts, celebrating the best in animation and short films.
The regular deadline for competitive and non-competitive feature film programs is June 29, 2025.
The early bird deadline for PÖFF Shorts is the 1st of July 2025 and for Just Film is June 30, 2025.

PÖFF Goes to Cannes!
For the fifth year, the Black Nights Film Festival proudly partners with the renowned Marché du Film event "Goes to Cannes" to spotlight exceptional international film projects in post-production.
PÖFF will present five international projects during Marché du film de Cannes.

European Genre Forum 2025 Submissions Are Open!
Got a horror, sci-fi, fantasy, dark thriller, or mystery project in the making?
The European Genre Forum (EGF) is a six-month training cycle for emerging European genre filmmakers, which helps emerging genre filmmakers develop their projects through three talent labs from July to November.
EGF is a collaboration between the Imagine Fantastic Film Festival in Amsterdam, Fantastic Zagreb Film Festival, and the Black Nights Film Festival in Tallinn.
