11TH TALLINN BLACK NIGHTS FILM FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES COMPETITION FILMS
11th Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival has announced the films in
competition in the festival's main programme. The international Official
Competition EurAsia presents 17 films. The domestic selection Scottish
Leader Estonian Feature Film Competition includes 12 Estonian films.

The international EurAsia jury is formed by Chung Sung-woo (South
Korea), François da Silva (France), Jaak Kilmi (Estonia), Ilkka Y.L.

EurAsia Grand Prix is handed by the international jury for the best film
and it includes 10 000 euros sponsored by the city of Tallinn. The jury
also awards the best director, best actor and actress and hands out a
special jury prize.

Scottish Leader Estonian Feature Film competition jury is formed by
Christian Branchi (France), Arko Okk (Estonia) and Sergei Zemljanuhin
(Russia). Please find more information on the jury members in the
following attachment. Scottish Leader Estonian Film Award (50 000
kroons) goes to best film in the competition.
In addition to the above mentioned awards, a number of other award are
handed out in BNFF. International Federation of Film Clubs (FICC) hands
out the Don Quijote award and Estonian Film-Critics Association award a
film of their choice with the Critic's Award. The jury of Network for
the Promotion of Asian Cinema (NETPAC) award the best Asian film in BNFF
programme. An Audience Award, 2 000 euros supported by the City of
Tallinn, is handed to the audience's favourite film. A Lifetime
Achievement Award will be handed to an accomplished film-maker.
All BNFF sub-festivals have their own competitions and juries and hand
out several awards. Please see attatchment for more information about

Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival
Estonia's largest film event transforms the capital of Estonia into a
buzzing film city in the late autumn. The festival events span close to
a full month (15 Nov.-9 Dec.). In addition to the 10-day festival four
sub-festivals are organized and an international co-production market
"Baltic Event" takes place. The dates of the Black Nights Film Festival
(BNFF) main programme are 30.11.-9.12.2007. The festival is now
organized for the 11th time. In addition to traditional BNFF towns
Tallinn and Tartu, some BNFF movies are also presented in Narva, Jõhvi
and Kärdla.
Tickets will be on sale from 15th November in Piletilevi ticket counters
in Estonia. Tickest are also available internationally online at
www.piletilevi.ee.
