m-appeal is proud to announce that its acquisition A STAR IS BORN by 29-years old director Vanja Kovačević, who also stars as main actress in her film, has been selected for the Documentary Film competition at the prestigious Sarajevo Film Festival.

A STAR IS BORN, produced by Intermedia Network, is a film about fulfilling your dreams, a film about war against yourself and victory, a film about music, but above all, this is a film about rhythm.

Vanja is 29 years old and a professional filmmaker. Playing the drums in a band was her childhood dream - now she makes it come true. Inspired by the DECEMBERISTS' song "I was meant for the stage" Vanja issues herself an ultimatum by scheduling a concert: She has nine and a half months to cast a band and learn how to play the drums - nine and a half months of tough rehearsal, doubt, hope, desperation and euphoria...

So far, A STAR IS BORN has won awards for "Best Regional Film" at Beldocs Film Festival 2010 and for "Best Editing" at the Belgrade Documentary Film Festival 2010.
