The main prize at this year's market was the Estonian Digital Centre Baltic Film and Media School Award for Best Project at Baltic Event. The prize encompasses 5000 euros worth of post-production services and went to a project that made waves at this year's market, Necromancer (Laokoon Filmgroup, Hungary). Producer Gabor Sipos and director Arpad Bogdan were surprised and honored to accept the prize.

The competition was just as stiff for the Screen International Prize For Best Pitch. Though finally decisionmakers seemed to agree that the prize went to the right project. Screen International editor Mike Goodridge was on hand to personally hand over the award to producer Artem Vassiliev and director Alexey German Jr. The pitching pair left the impression that they should be the ones teaching how to pitch with their presentation of the project Under Electric Clouds (Metrafilms, Russia). The prize is a special focus piece on the project on screendaily.com, giving the project a leg up on international visibility.

The Cannes Marché du film Producer's Network prizes went to two very deserving producers. Ewa Puszczynska of Opus Film, one of the most experienced producers from Poland, who brought a charming children's tale called Jingo about a boy and a chimpanzee to the market (dir. Slawomir Fabicki).

The second Producer's Network prize went to an upcoming, energetic producer from Russia, Natalia Drozd of CTB Film Company. She represented two projects at the market, one a co-production with Germany called Last November (CTB Film Company/Amselfilm Productions, dir. Benjamin Quabeck) and the other project, produced together with renowned producer Sergey Selyanov, was Volontaire (dir. Alexander Rogozhkin). Without a doubt, whether upcoming or fully established, both winners have already made admirable marks on the film industry and were now applauded for their work with a free admission to the Producer's Network.

Baltic Event took place in conjunction with Black Market. Partners of Baltic Event are EAVE, Canens Marche du film Producer's Network, Screen International, Sarajevo FF co-prodcution market Cinelink, the Finnish Film Foundation, the Black Nights Film Festival, Film New Europe, and the Baltic Film and Media School. Supporters of the event are the MEDIA Programme, the Estonian Film Foundation, the National Film Center of Latvia, the Estonian Cultural Endowment, the Estonian Ministry of Culture, Enterprise Estonia, and Nordic Hotel Forum.
