Over 70 films from all over the world, produced after 1 January 2016, competed in the programmes: Architecture and Design, Contemporary Art, Installation Art, Protest Art, Fine Art and Photography, Literature, Music and Dance, Theatre and Cinema, Video Art and Advertising and Art in Video Games, as well as Art for Children and Culinary Art, the two new sections added this year. A noncompetitive panorama of exceptional documentaries on art regardless of their date of production was offered to the festival by the America for Bulgaria Foundation.
“All the titles in the different programmes of the festival are shown for the first time in Bulgaria. Ten of them are Bulgarian”, founder and artistic director Titzin told FNE.
The festival was once again organised by Spotlight and the Master of Art Foundation. It was supported by the Sofia Municipality, the Bulgarian National Film Center, the National Palace of Culture and the America for Bulgaria Foundation.
