The winning film also received the additional Danny Lerner Award offered by Nu Boyana, consisting of services in the amount of 50,000 EUR along with 5,000 EUR in cash for the development of the director’s next feature project. Milko Lazarov was awarded best director, while Kaloyan Bozhilov was awarded best cinematographer. The film also received the Bulgarian Critics Guild Award and the Accredited Journalists award.
The Golden Rose award for best short film went to Hristo Simeonov’s Dimo’s Forest.
The jury gave its Special Award to Heights, while the City of Varna Special Award went to Away From the Shore.
Irina received the best debut award, the Union of the Bulgarian Filmmakers award, while Martina Apostolova was awarded best actress for her role in the same film. Best actress award was also given to Eglė Mikulionytė for her role in Miracle. Alexander Aleksiev was awarded best actor for his role in Heights.
8’19” was awarded best TV film and the audience award went to Smart Christmas.
This year, the international jury, presided over by actress/directress Diana Dobreva and composed of German producer Rudi Teichmann, Heleen Gerritsen from goEast Festival, Bulgarian director Ilian Djevelekov and Warsaw based DoP Wojciech Todorow, decided not to give a best script award.
The Honourable Special Prize for lifetime achievements went to director Georgi Djulgerov.
