Part of the first Bulgarian omnibus 15, the film competed in Sundance individually. The main character, portrayed by Svetla Tsotsorkova (a director and producer herself), is a young mother unsuccessfully trying to feed her child with only three eggs in 1996. Koseva uses the film to express the general feeling of people suffering from unbearable prices for even basic foods.
Omelette was honored among a group of seven other international shorts. It was the only representative from Eastern Europe, and the first Bulgarian film ever, distinguished at Sundance.
Local press noted that Koseva's professional tutor was one of Bulgaria's most talented film directors, Georgy Diulgerov. Her next film "Second Take" will be a short with Georgi Gospodinov, who wrote Omelette, again on board as scriptwriter.
Together with Tsotsorkova, Koseva produced the short Waltzes and Tangos in the Village of Whitewater, which was screened in Locarno. In March, a special screening of Omelette is planned at the 13th Sofia film fest.
