The film, produced by Inter Film (www.interfilm.hr) deals with the most controversial part of Croatia's Animal Protection Act which regulates bullfighting. Sonja, a city girl from Zagreb, a vegetarian and animal-rights activist, denounces bullfighting as unnecessarily violent and the owners of the bulls as heartless. The rural locals increasingly resist her proclamations, eventually raising bets that she would not dare to stand in front of a bull herself.
Vorkapić (born 1969) studied film and TV directing at the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb. She is an independent artist, screenwriter and director and has directed over 20 award-winning documentary films, two short films, including Driver's Licence (1992) as well as several stage plays.
