Leading French production company EuropaCorp has begun filming The Man Who Laughs on locations in the Czech Republic.
The film, an adaptation of the novel by Victor Hugo, stars Gerard Depardieu, Emmanuelle Seigner, and rising young French-Canadian actor Marc-Andre Grondin. Jean-Pierre Ameris directs and also co-authored the screenplay,
The production is filming in a convent and at other locations near Plzen in the West of Bohemia.
The Czech team includes unit manager Jiri Husak and production manager Michal Prikryl.
