WARSAW: Central Europe's largest exhibitor Cinema City opened Forum Nova Karolina, an eight-screen, 1,195 multiplex in Ostrava, Czech Republic, on 22 March.
Cinema City now has 14 multiplexes with 119 screens in the Czech Republic, including eight Palace Cinema multiplexes acquired in 2011. The Czech Republic accounted for 10% of Cinema City's total revenues in 2011, 26.8 million euros.
CEO Moshe Greidinger said the company is currently doing major refurbishments at prime locations in the Czech Republic. In addition, the company launched a distribution arm, Forum Film Czech, at the start of 2012.
