The film is a story of a teen-age boy living in newly-independent Georgia, caught between gang life and a non-violent life. The teen meets a reformed gang-member, who now is involved with a group of artists and has burned his bridges to the past. The older musician/artist tries to show the budding gangster a different way of life. Kalandadze, an established musician in Georgia, said the characters are based on his own past, and in particular a musician who influenced his own life choices. He is casting both professional and non-pro actors, who will use improvisation in creating the scenes, and he will use original music in the film.
The film is in the final stage of development and has a completed script and funding for development. The five-year old production company Parachute Films is awaiting results from the Georgian National Film Center’s call for film production grants. The budget is 400,000 EUR and the completion of the film is planned for January 2021.
