Rising Czech actor Jan Budar will host the announcements at a ceremony in the 100 year old Lucerna Cinema, with Czech TV 2 covering the announcement.

The 17th Czech Lion (www.ceskylev.cz) awards ceremony is scheduled for March 6, with the master of ceremonies to be announced. The winners are chosen by the Czech Television and Film Academy. The awards ceremonies are produced by Petr Vachler of Vacler Art Company (www.vac.cz).

Contenders for nominations include the Oscar nominee Protector, and Three Seasons in Hell actor Kristof Hadek. The eligible films include 34 features and 12 long documentary films.
