Jakubisko is the subject of a retrospective, along with Czech director Jan Svankmajer, Spanish director Julio Medem, Czech author Pavel Kohout, and Chilean avant-garde director Alehandro Jodorowsky.

The "film school"/festival, organized the the Czech Film Clubs' Association (ACFK) drew over 5,000 accredited film buffs in 2007, the majority of them under age 30. Long-time festival director Jiri Kralik was recently replaced byPavel Bednarik, over a large debt allegedly accrued under his management, according to the Czech Press Agency CTK.
