PRODUCTION: Estonia Preps Polar Boy

TALLINN: Estonian writer/director Anu Aun is working on The Polar Boy, the tale of a talented and promising young photographer who fakes bipolar disorder in order to avoid a prison sentence and discovers he must leave his destructive girlfriend.

The film is produced by Luxfilm, which was cofounded by Aun. Producer Priit Paasuke attended the recent Baltic Event Co-Production Market seeking coproducers and sales agents for the film.

The budget is 655,000 EUR, and the production company has 300,000 EUR in place. The film was developed with support from MEDIA and the NIPKOW programme. The film will be shot in Estonian and English.
